  8. The line IgnoreInstalledEMM=yes in the [386enh] section of the
  9. SYSTEM.INI is designed to make Microsoft Windows ignore any unknown
  10. external expanded memory manager. This does not work properly in
  11. Windows version 3.00.

  13. Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information
  14. here as it becomes available.

  18. The message "ERROR: Cannot install the 386 enhanced mode Expanded
  19. Memory driver" will be displayed after the opening logo screen if an
  20. expanded memory manager has been loaded in the CONFIG.SYS that is not
  21. designed specifically to work with Windows 3.00 in enhanced mode. This
  22. will occur if the line IgnoreInstalledEMM= is set to either yes or no.

  27. Boot the machine with a CONFIG.SYS that does not load an expanded
  28. memory manager when you desire to use Windows 3.00 in it's enhanced
  29. mode.
